Interior Ministry Announces 80 Job Vacancies; How To Apply
The Ministry of Interior and National Administration has advertised 80 positions in critical departments under Internal Security and Corrections Services.
According to a May 21 ministry statement, the roles are intended to create capacity in peacebuilding, government welcome services, and probation management.
“The Public Service Commission (PSC) has advertised 80 vacancies in key directorates under Internal Security and Correctional Services, in a move aimed at improving capacity in peace building, government reception services, and probation services,” the ministry wrote.
The posted vacancies are aimed at filling senior and professional roles in both departments, with the PSC recruiting for Civil Service Grades 4, 5, 6, and 7.
The Ministry of Interior and National Administration is responsible for maintaining internal security, coordinating national administration, and managing civil registration, immigration as well as correctional services in the country.

The State Department for Internal Security and National Administration has advertised for Secretary (1), Director (2), Deputy Director (6), Assistant Director (7), and Senior Principal Lecturer (7) jobs in the Peacebuilding and Conflict Management Directorate.
The department has also advertised six Deputy Director vacancies and seven Assistant Director vacancies for Government Reception Services.
In the State Department for Correctional Services, the recruitment is focused on the Probation Department, with vacancies including Secretary (15), Deputy Director (21), and Assistant Director (8).

Interested individuals can access information about all the available jobs and requirements on the careers page of the ministry’s website.
Qualified candidates are required to apply through the PSC’s official recruitment platform by May 26, and the job listings specify that all positions are open to serving officers only.
The ministry underscored that the recruitment is an effort to address long-standing staffing gaps in the security and public administration sectors.
“The recruitment drive comes as the Ministry continues to implement broader reforms in the Security and Public Administration sector aimed at addressing decades long of staffing shortages in public institutions,” the ministry stated.
The ministry is also planning further recruitment efforts, seeking a total budget allocation of about Ksh2 billion to support police recruitment and enhance officers’ welfare, according to Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo.
