President William Ruto is set to travel to Europe on a mission to expand opportunities for Kenyan commodities, jobs, and investment in three nations.

Mohammed stated that President Ruto will leave the nation on Saturday, June 7, for official visits to Belgium and Norway, as well as a state visit to Finland.

“President William Ruto departs this afternoon for Official Visits to Belgium and Norway, and a State Visit to Finland aimed at attracting investment, expanding market access for Kenyan products and strengthening partnerships that boost exports, create jobs and drive economic growth,” stated Hussein.

The tour’s major goal is to introduce more Kenyan products into European markets while also attracting serious investment back home.

In Belgium, Ruto will meet with King Philippe and Flanders Minister-President Matthias Diependaele to discuss commerce, investment, and bilateral relations.

He will also meet European Council President António Costa and European Parliament President Roberta Metsola to push for faster implementation of the Kenya-EU Economic Partnership Agreement.

According to Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed, the Kenya-EU Economic Partnership Agreement grants Kenyan exports duty-free and quota-free access to European markets, with tea, coffee, cut flowers and horticulture products set to benefit most.

Norway is next on the itinerary, where Ruto will meet Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Crown Prince Haakon for talks touching on renewable energy and the blue economy.

In Norway, President Ruto is expected to attend the Norway Business Forum, which will bring together investors from both countries to explore deals in electric mobility, climate-smart agriculture, and clean energy.

Finally, Finland wraps up the tour, with President Alexander Stubb hosting President Ruto for a full State Visit, building on President Stubb’s own trip to Nairobi in May 2025.
