“This is Reckless Propaganda!” – MP Caleb Amisi Speaks On Joining Ruto’s Camp

Caleb Amisi, the Saboti Member of Parliament, has denied reports that he is in talks with President William Ruto’s administration about joining the government.

Amisi called the reports inaccurate, reckless, and politically motivated.

Addressing the press on Wednesday, July 1, Amisi accused some politicians of creating lies in order to divide leaders calling for political reform.

He especially objected to remarks attributed to Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula, claiming that the claims were made to undermine his reputation and loyalty to the opposition.

“I have taken note of the unfortunate remarks and propaganda being circulated suggesting that I am engaged in conversations or political arrangements with the William Ruto regime,” he commented.

He went on to add, “These allegations are false, reckless, and intended to sow division within those who seek genuine change in Kenya.”

The congressman insisted that his political ideas and beliefs remain unchanged, stating that he has continuously stood with Kenyans and has no plans to leave that cause.

Addressing Savula directly, Amisi said the country’s political moment requires seriousness rather than speculation.

He further argued that Kenya’s politics should not be based on unfounded accusations or internal divisions.

Amisi also expressed outrage over what he described as a growing culture within the opposition where leaders are quick to brand other politicians as government sympathisers without evidence.

“No individual or political faction has the monopoly of determining who qualifies to belong to the movement for democratic change,” said Amisi.

Beyond responding to the allegations, Amisi warned against the revival of tribal politics, arguing that ethnic mobilisation has historically failed to solve Kenya’s challenges.

He praised the Gen Z movement for promoting a leaderless, fearless, and tribeless campaign centred on accountability and national unity.

“Tribalism has never liberated our people, nor will it rescue our nation today,” Amisi argued.

“The young people who awakened this country reminded us that Kenya belongs to all its citizens, regardless of ethnicity.”
