ENA Coach Announces New Fares After EPRA's Fuel Price Review

ENA Coach Announces New Fares After EPRA’s Fuel Price Review

Ena Coach, a popular long-distance bus company, has announced updated tariffs for passengers traveling to and from various places around the country, including Nairobi and Mombasa.

Ena Coach announced on Wednesday, July 15, that travelers travelling from many cities in western Kenya to Nairobi will pay between Ksh1,700 and Ksh1,800, while all specified routes to Mombasa will cost Ksh3,000.

A quick check reveals that the most recent fare schedule currently includes more routes than a comparable schedule issued in June.

The most noteworthy changes affect the Nairobi-Kisumu route, where the ticket has been decreased by Ksh100.

Under the latest fare schedule, passengers travelling from Port Victoria, Busia, Nyadorera, Usenge, Luanda and Mbale to Nairobi will pay Ksh1,800.

On the other hand, routes including Kisumu-Ahero-Nairobi, Oyugis-Kisii-Nairobi, Mbita-Homa Bay-Kisii-Nairobi, Sirare-Migori-Bomet-Nairobi and Kehancha-Awendo-Narok-Nairobi have been priced at Ksh1,700.

For Mombasa-bound passengers, the company has maintained a uniform fare of Ksh3,000 across all routes, including Sori-Rongo-Mombasa and Mbita-Kisii-Mombasa.

Other routes that will also pay the aforementioned fare to Mombasa include Kehancha-Kisii-Sotik-Narok-Mombasa, Busia-Maseno-Kisumu-Mombasa and Port Victoria-Siaya-Bondo-Ahero-Mombasa.

The latest update comes just two days after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced that fuel prices would remain unchanged for the next 30 days from July 15, 2026.

Under the latest review, super petrol will continue to retail at Ksh214.03 per litre in Nairobi, diesel at Ksh222.86, and kerosene at Ksh191.38 per litre.

EPRA attributed the stable pump prices to continued government intervention aimed at shielding consumers from fluctuations in global oil prices.

Despite Ena Coach’s latest fare announcement, most commuter and long-distance bus companies have so far maintained their existing ticket prices despite EPRA’s latest fuel price review.

The company encouraged travellers to book their tickets through its mobile application or customer service channels for travel across its network.
