Ex-Radio Africa Journalist Killed In Motorcycle Crash As Police Report 13 Accident Deaths On Friday
A 24-year-old former Radio Africa journalist was killed in a motorcycle-concrete mixer collision on Uhuru Highway in Nairobi on Friday evening.
The accident happened around 5.30 p.m. near the University Way roundabout, according to police.
According to police, the crash involved a Foton concrete mixer and a motorcycle.
According to preliminary investigations, both vehicles were travelling from Westlands to the city center when the motorcycle rider apparently collided with the pavement, lost control, and smashed into the left side of the concrete mixer.
Former Radio Africa journalist Rose Mbugua, 24, was killed in a road accident involving a motorcycle and a concrete mixer along Uhuru Highway in Nairobi on Friday evening.

The hit flung the pillion passenger, 24-year-old Rose Mbugua, from the motorcycle.
She suffered significant head injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police officers visited and documented the scene before the body was moved to Nairobi’s City Mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash are ongoing.
Friends and colleagues described her as a hardworking and humble journalist.
Fatal accidents have been on the rise despite efforts to address the problem, police say.
According to police, motorcycle accidents account for the highest number of such cases, according to police.
On Friday night alone, 13 people were killed in separate accidents. They included five riders, two pedestrians, five passengers and one pillion passenger.
The accidents left more than 20 people with serious injuries. The incidents are under investigation, police said.
