IEBC Advertises Applications For SEVEN Senior Positions Ahead Of 2027 Election

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has opened applications for seven senior director positions as it steps up preparations for the 2027 General Election.

The vacancies span some of the commission’s most critical departments, including voter education, finance, corporate communications, research, human resources, internal audit and coordination of county and constituency offices.

Interested candidates have until Tuesday, August 17, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. to submit their applications through the JKUATES e-recruitment portal, where detailed job descriptions and application guidelines are available.

Applicants must submit a signed application letter, a detailed curriculum vitae showing current and previous employers, positions held and at least three professional referees, a copy of their National Identity Card, and copies of their academic and professional certificates.

The advertised positions include Director of Voter Education and Partnerships, Director of Research, Electoral Boundaries and Risk Management, Director of Human Resources and Administration, Director of Internal Audit and Compliance, Director of Finance, Director of Corporate Communications, and Director of Counties and Constituencies Coordination.

According to the recruitment notice, JKUATES and IEBC are equal opportunity employers and have encouraged qualified youth, women, persons with disabilities (PWDs) and candidates from marginalised communities to apply.

In addition, agencies have cautioned applicants against canvassing or submitting false information, warning that anyone found falsifying or misrepresenting qualifications will be automatically disqualified.

Filling the seven positions is expected to strengthen leadership across departments that support voter awareness, financial accountability, public communication, electoral research and coordination of field operations across the country.

The recruitment comes just days after IEBC declared the position of Commission Secretary and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) vacant, inviting qualified Kenyans to apply for one of the commission’s most influential offices.

The Commission Secretary and CEO serves as the accounting officer and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the electoral body’s secretariat.

These include overseeing voter registration, procurement of election materials, election logistics and implementation of commission policies.

Together, the recruitment of the CEO and seven directors marks one of IEBC’s biggest leadership hiring exercises in recent years as the commission strengthens its management team ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The appointments are expected to play a key role in enhancing the commission’s operational capacity and supporting preparations for the country’s next nationwide polls.
