CCTV Footage Reveals Moments Leading To Fatal Nyayo Stadium Stabbing
New CCTV footage has captured the moments leading up to the fatal stabbing of Kennedy Ngeno in an apparent road rage incident along Mombasa Road near Nyayo Stadium.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, August 1, leaving one person dead and several others injured. The main suspect has since been arrested.
The footage shows three vehicles coming to an abrupt stop along the road at around 4am. One vehicle parks a few yards ahead while a Suzuki taxi and a Toyota Wish stop side by side.
Shortly afterwards, the driver of the Suzuki taxi steps out of his vehicle and approaches the white car, which was occupied by Ngeno.
The CCTV footage appears to show the taxi driver attempting to record the occupants using his phone.
However, individuals from the other two vehicles, who appeared to know each other, object to the recording.
At one point during the confrontation, one of the individuals appears to slap at the suspect’s phone in an apparent attempt to stop him from filming.
As the confrontation intensifies, the taxi driver retreats to his vehicle, where he appears to threaten to produce an object. The group gathered at the scene, however, appears unfazed.
Moments later, the confrontation turns physical. The taxi driver, who is dressed in a black tracksuit and hoodie, appears to stab one of the individuals as the fight escalates.
The footage then appears to show the suspect turning his attention to Ngeno, who had moved some distance away while the suspect was engaged in a confrontation with several other individuals.
Although Ngeno appears to be walking away from the scene, the suspect pursues him before allegedly stabbing him several times in the chest. Ngeno collapses moments later.

Following the stabbing, the suspect is seen filming the aftermath while claiming that he had been attacked and acted in self-defence.
He then returns to his Suzuki taxi and slowly drives away as bystanders carry the bleeding victim to the white vehicle to rush him to hospital.
Ngeno was initially taken to Mbagathi Hospital. However, the hospital was reportedly unable to treat him, prompting his transfer to Kenyatta National Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The main suspect’s lawyer has since denied claims that his client attempted to flee after the incident, insisting that he voluntarily presented himself at a police station.
The lawyer also maintains that the suspect was outnumbered and acted in self-defence.
An autopsy has since established that Ngeno died multiple stab wounds, including a fatal one near his heart.
