The delay has sparked frustration among residents, who are questioning the county’s preparedness and response time when dealing with fire emergencies.

Maruri is a residential neighborhood in Nairobi, located about 10 kilometers northeast of the city center within the larger Roysambu area near the Northern Bypass.

The incident adds to the growing number of fires in residential areas, raising fresh concerns about what might have been causing the inferno.

Two weeks ago, a huge fire broke out at the Kangemi area of Nairobi, leaving thousands of residents counting losses and without homes.

However, the cause of the fire has not yet been established to date, with many linking the incident to a burst of cooking gas or an electrical fault, with no official statement from the authorities.
