
ODM’s Oburu Oginga Breaks Silence After Hospitalization Reports, Says ‘Doing Very Well’
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Oburu Oginga now says he is doing well.
Oburu dismissed viral reports suggesting that he is seriously sick after being admitted to the hospital on Saturday.
In a statement on Tuesday, September 1, the Siaya Senator clarified that he only briefly visited the hospital for a routine general checkup and had since returned home.
“Thank you for your concerns. I have read the nation’s digital news and wish to state that I am very well,” he said.
“I had only briefly visited the hospital for a general checkup with my doctors and have since returned home.”
The ODM leader further noted that being sick is a normal human experience and should not alarm anyone, adding that the day he truly falls sick, he will openly inform Kenyans.
“Being sick is a normal human experience and should not alarm anyone,” Oburu added.
“The day I am truly sick, I will inform you all, for I am a very transparent person. Thanks for your concerns.”
ODM Communications Director Philip Etale also sought to calm concerns, revealing that Oburu was at his Kitisuru residence in Nairobi hosting friends and would be out soon.
“The ODM Leader Dr Oburu is currently hosting friends at his Kitisuru residence in Nairobi. He has sent me to greet you all,” Etale stated.
“The party leader is very much okay. Just at home relaxing and will be out in the coming few days. He is presently at his residence in Kitusuru,” he added.
Images shared by Oburu further showed him relaxing at his home alongside a friend who was reading a newspaper inside his sitting room.
This gesture is aimed at assuring that he had returned home and was in good condition.

The latest development follows initial reports claiming that the ODM party leader had been admitted to Nairobi Hospital after reportedly feeling unwell.
Reports had further indicated that Oburu was admitted on August 23 and discharged on Thursday, August 27, after allegedly suffering severe fatigue, with doctors reportedly recommending that he take time to rest.
Before the viral reports, the Siaya Senator was last seen publicly on Saturday, August 29, when he played golf, with images shared online showing him in high spirits.
Later that evening, reports emerged claiming that Oburu had been rushed to hospital after feeling unwell, sparking concern among his supporters and other Kenyans.
Some reports further claimed that access to him at the hospital had been restricted.
Only close family members and relatives allegedly allowed to visit regularly following instructions from his medical team.
