Ruto Ally Summoned By NCIC Over Inciteful Remarks About Kikuyus In Uasin Gishu

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has summoned Nominated Member of Parliament Joseph Wainaina Iraya over remarks he allegedly made while addressing residents in Kapseret, Uasin Gishu County.

In summons dated August 31, 2026, the commission said it was investigating utterances allegedly made by Wainaina during a public address in Ngeria on August 29.

The remarks, reproduced in the summons, allegedly intimated that people from the Kikuyu community who do not support President Ruto’s re-election should leave Uasin Gishu County.

The NCIC said the summons had been issued under Sections 27, 29 and 63C, as read together with Section 63E, of the National Cohesion and Integration Act.

Wainaina was directed to appear personally before the commission on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 10am.
