Family Issues Update on Hospitalized MP Following ICU Admission
Following growing public concern about the health of Malava Member of Parliament Malulu Injendi, his family has issued the first update on the lawmaker’s status since his admittance to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa confirmed on behalf of the family that the lawmaker is now in stable health.
Barasa was speaking after visiting Malava MP Malulu Injendi at a major hospital in Nairobi on Thursday and conversing with his family.
“I want to assure our people that we have seen Honourable Malulu Injendi and he is recovering. Doctors have tried their best and they are continuing,” Barasa stated.

Initially, social media was awash with rumors regarding the lawmaker’s health, with some sections reporting that he was critically ill.
Malulu was reportedly admitted to the hospital on Tuesday due to medical issues, raising concerns about his well-being.
However, Barasa has sought to calm anxieties, stating that he is doing better now than when he was admitted.
“We are impressed by the treatment they have given him. I just want to ask you to help us pray for him. I just want to assure our people that our MP is doing much better,” Barasa added.
However, when asked to clarify what was wrong with the member, the Governor declined, stating that all he was allowed to say was an update on his status.

“We do not want to go in that direction because mine was to assure the people of Kakamega and Malava that their MP is doing well,” he refuted.
Barasa was joined by important leaders and Malulu’s Kakamega County colleagues, including Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera, Emmanuel Wangwe (Navakholo), and Caleb Amisi (Saboti).
