KUCCPS Opens KMTC, TVET Portal For 2024 KCSE Graduates
It’s excellent news for 2024 KCSE candidates now that the government’s employment agency has launched the enrolment portal.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) launched the placement portal on Friday.
The portal will stay available for the next 21 days, allowing all qualified candidates from last year to enroll in Teacher, Medical, and TVET training schools.
KUCCPS’s quick action will allow students to gain admissions in March and May, as opposed to waiting until August previously.

The gateway is aimed at students who did not achieve a mean grade point average of C+ (plus) or higher to gain direct university admission.
The students will also apply to courses at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
The placement platform will operate from January 24 until February 14, 2025.
According to KUCCPS CEO Agness Wahome, the portals will be opened in stages for different categories as part of the institution’s new manner.
“The placement service has for the first time adopted a phased application process starting with the Kenya Medical Training College and the TvET colleges to allow the students enrolling for the March intake to apply on time,” the statement read in part.
She explained that this is because universities and Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) typically have intakes in the fourth quarter of the year, whereas KMTC and TVETS admit in January, February, and May.
The phased application procedure is designed to help pupils transfer to college quickly.
KUCCPS has also declared that past Form Four leavers who took the KCSE between 2000 and 2024 can apply for placement in KMTC and TVETs.
Students are encouraged to apply for TVETS and KMTC campuses in their communities in order to save money while working from home.

“Students applying for degrees and TTC should exercise patience, as dates for their applications will follow thereafter and will be announced,’’ KUCCPS said.
Students who retake their exams in July, according to KUCCPS, will be able to apply for the September intake at KMTC and TVETS with improved grades.
KUCCPS stated that applications can only be submitted through the portal, and the organization plans to launch a national exercise to guide students and help applicants in selected universities across all 47 counties.
Only 246, 391 of the 962,512 applicants who took the KCSE 2024 exam scored C+ or higher, qualifying for direct university admission. 605,774 people are scheduled to apply for TVETs this year.
