Gachagua Exposes Ruto’s Illicit Gold Business With Sanctioned RSF Boss
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua claims that President William Ruto is involved in a gold business with the leader of Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti).
Gachagua claimed that his old boss only invited Hemedti to Kenya in 2023 for personal benefit, not national interest.

He stated that he was tasked with inviting the RSF leader and that after receiving him at State House in Nairobi, he was shut out of the chamber where the two Heads of State met.
“It is putting Kenya in very bad light. President Ruto must accept that he will not be president forever,” Gachagua added.
“He cannot destroy this country and the way we are perceived by other nations. He must be a nationalist, rise above commercial and personal interests and put the country first.”
He continued: “That group has been flagged by the international community, and sanctions have been slapped against them for genocide and killing of children.”

The former DP chastised Ruto for callously leading the country, claiming that his collaboration with RSF, an internationally sanctioned group, is tarnishing Kenya’s reputation and jeopardizing its diplomatic relations.
He revealed that Ruto’s association with RSF has prompted the Sudanese government to threaten to ban Kenyan tea exports to Sudan.
Ruto’s leadership strategy is so faulty, according to Gachagua, that his connection with African heads of state is deteriorating due to his role in the conflict in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
“DRC we have handled it very badly, and I am told many African presidents are unwilling to get involved in peace initiatives led by President Ruto because he is conflicted with commercial and personal interest that he has put above national interest,” Gachagua added.
Kenya has defended its recent decision to hold RSF in Nairobi on February 18, amid criticism from Sudan’s administration.
The RSF convened the gathering to form a parallel administration despite fears that such a step would further split the war-torn country.
In recent weeks, the RSF has regained ground in Khartoum along multiple axes, closing up on the landmark presidential palace on the Nile River.
The RSF controls the majority of Sudan’s west and is waging a fierce battle to consolidate its grip over the Darfur area by conquering al-Fashir.

Their presence in Kenya has sparked criticism of President Ruto from various quarters, with some questioning why the Kenyan administration is not concerned with maintaining diplomatic stability.
