Morara Kebaso Calls Out Gachagua Over Tribal Remarks

In a message posted on his official X account on Saturday, March 22, INJECT Party leader Morara Kebaso criticized former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for engaging in ‘tribal-driven politics’.

Morara, who cited a video of the former DP in Machakos, criticized Gachagua’s unwavering concentration on Mt Kenya politics, claiming that it will continue to promote weak leadership and discord in the country.

In the video, which Morara posted on his account, Gachagua declared that Mt Kenya had the ability to remain in power for the next 100 years.

Gachagua further stated that the region’s leaders will perform well in the upcoming general election in Nairobi County.

In response to the claims, Morara asked, “How do I convince Gen Zs that this speech by a leader of such great influence is the change they were fighting for?   I found it difficult to continue associating the Gen Z movement with this.”

Tribalism has long been a source of contention in Gachagua. It was one of the grounds for removing him from his position in October of last year.

According to Morara, Kenya’s long history of tribal-based politics has played an important role in encouraging corruption and accountability.

Morara hinted at a potential area of contention with Gachagua, saying that he will not let the genz’s purpose of uniting the country be sidetracked by tribal politics.

In recent months, the energetic activist has been spotted with Gachagua and other opposition leaders.

“The leaders of the opposition should unite. I agree 100 per cent. But what is the glue that will hold us together? Do we have shared values? Are we uniting to replace the problem with another problem?” he said.

“INJECT Party of Kenya will sweep Parliament, Senate, and all elective seats like a flash flood,” he said.

“People of Kenya, you are welcome to your office in Kahawa Sukari, Kiu River Road, 6th South Avenue. Pamoja Tujenge Chama.”
