MP Elachi Recounts Son’s Last Horrific Moments, Urges Parents To Pray For Gen Z
On Friday, March 28, Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Beatrice Elachi encouraged parents to pray for the Gen Z youth as she disclosed the events leading up to her son Elvis Murakana’s death.
During her son’s requiem service, Elachi noted that the current generation, in their apparent sense of freedom, prefers to do things spontaneously.
That is, without regard for their parents’ responses or authority in their activities.
Elachi stated that such a scenario was what led to her son’s death.
Murakana died on Tuesday, March 25, while being treated in the Intensive Care Unit following a horrific car accident.

“I want to talk to parents about our children today. We have a generation that believes that they can sort out their own problems,” Elachi stated.
“So they wake up at any hour when one is in a challenge, and they will not even tell you. They will go, and they will deal with the problem.”
She continued: “They will only tell you if indeed they were unable to do it and there is a crisis. But they will bail each other out, and you will not believe.”
“So in the same breath, that is what Elvis did. He was in bed at 10 pm, was called to help a friend, rushed, and did it well,” she expressed.

“But when he was coming back, he had a tyre burst. He rushed to use the emergency brakes but then lost control. In that, he sustained injuries to his brain, which led to his death.”
Elachi asked parents to make devotions to safeguard their children’s safety.

“We, as mothers and parents today, let us pray for this generation. It is a very tough generation that needs a lot of prayers,” she urged.

Elachi praised her son for his love of music, church, and sports, adding that he was reclusive.
She said that while her son was under therapy, she was able to predict his coming death, implying that this provided her with closure.
Murakana will be laid to rest on Saturday, March 29, at his family’s home in Nalepo Village, Kajiado County.
Elvis was a Business Studies student at Africa Nazarene University when he died, with a graduation date of June 2025.
