Building On Fire In Nairobi’s Central Business District
A fire has broken out at a building on Kumasi Road in Nairobi’s Central Business District.
Footage released on X shows the top level of the high-rise building, which is near Barkat Biashara Mall and opposite the Simba Coach booking center, engulfed in flames.

Smoke could be seen pouring from the building as interested onlookers watched from afar.
Emergency responders were observed on the scene, despite the fact that the source of the fire was unknown.
While there have been no official reports on the number of victims or injuries caused by the fire, the blaze has destroyed multiple shops, causing property of unknown worth to burn.
Clips circulating on social media showed business owners in the neighboring neighborhoods rushing to close their doors, worried the fire might spread to nearby buildings.

Others could be seen going about their business, even as the crowd in the area expanded.
Throughout the incident, emergency services worked to evacuate those who were believed to be inside the structure when the fire broke out.
At the time of publication, the Nairobi City County Government has yet to issue a formal comment regarding the fire.
However, some Nairobi residents were dissatisfied with the fire department’s slow response.
