Chaos Erupts As MCAs Clash, Exchange Blows Over Leadership Shake-Up

Drama occurred in the Machakos County Assembly as MCAs competed for critical leadership seats.

After disagreeing on their opinions, the lawmakers openly traded blows and kicks.

According to reports, things began to go south following reported attempts to shift key leadership roles on the minority side of the assembly.

The county assembly Speaker is claimed to have alerted the MCAs of changes in minority leadership, citing correspondence from the Wiper Party.

This move was strongly opposed by a part of the MCAs, causing the entire sitting to disarray as several members fled for safety.

The MCAs opposed attempts to establish Mathani MCA Francis Kavyu as Minority Leader, claiming that he belonged to the majority side.

According to footage and photographs uploaded online, the situation deteriorated as members of the Majority and Minority exchanged blows and kicks, with some surging toward the Speaker’s seat.

The scuffle brought the session to a halt as the sergeant-at-arms battled to secure his mace.

Moments later, as one sergeant-at-arms attempted to seize the mace, numerous MCAs launched a chase, demanding its return so that the session could continue.

However, this was not successful, as some commanders reportedly suffered injuries during the standoff.

According to sources, the Wiper Democratic Movement has ousted MCAs Felix Ngui and Mbili Ndawa from their respective leadership roles in the party.

The couple belonged to the Maendeleo Chap Chap party.

This is the second time chaos has broken out at the Machakos County Assembly.

Tensions rose over Speaker Anne Kiusya’s impeachment, amid rising rumors of a conspiracy to depose Governor Wavinya Ndeti. MCAs supporting Kiusya battled with those calling for her dismissal.

The confrontation escalated when Deputy Speaker Stephen Mwanthi accused Kiusya of failing to account for the usage of public cash.
