BREAKING: Moses Kuria Resigns As Ruto’s Economic Adviser

Moses Kuria, Senior Economic Advisor to the President, has resigned from the government less than 10 months after being nominated to the position by President William Ruto.

Kuria, who has worked for the government in various capacities since 2022, including as Cabinet Secretary for Trade and Public Service, announced the news in a statement on Tuesday evening.

According to Kuria, he filed his resignation request, which President Ruto formally accepted, clearing the path for his departure from the cabinet.

“This evening I have met my boss and my friend President William Ruto. The President has graciously accepted my decision to resign from government,” Kuria stated.

Kuria has sent confusing signals regarding the country’s political situation in recent days, following the mounting discomfort caused by the Gen Z rallies.

In his exit statement, despite not having shared exactly why he made the call, the politician-cum-advisor said that he would be pursuing personal interests.

“As I move on to pursue personal interests I am proud of the work the President and I did to implement the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda which I designed together with the President as our 2022 Electoral Platform. Long Live Kenya,” he added.
