“Let’s Meet In 2027, No Shortcut!” – Ruto Tells Opposition

President William Ruto has made it clear that his opponents will not be able to remove him from office by unconstitutional means.

Speaking at the launch of an affordable housing project in Kilimani, Nairobi, Ruto stated that he would not allow the country to be destroyed by impatient individuals who do not want to wait until the 2027 elections.

“This country will not be destroyed by a few people who are impatient and who want a change of government using unconstitutional means. It is not going to happen,” he stated.

Ruto challenged his opponents to create manifestos to be presented to Kenyans in 2027 if they felt they had better plans for the country.

“If they have plans, let’s meet in 2027.  They should prepare their manifesto, and then we will meet in 2027. There is no shortcut in between,” he stated.

The President reaffirmed that a change in government is only possible through the ballot, not through protests.

“I want to tell them, it will not happen. And if they were thinking about it, they better think again,” he added.

He claimed that politicians have been the ones pushing youth to violence in the name of advocating for decent governance.

“You can call me whatever names you want to call me, but I will make sure there is peace and stability in Kenya,” he added.

“People struggle for years to build their businesses, and then a politician, a stupid person, comes and organises protests and chaos and properties are destroyed, then they say it is politics.”
