TRANS NZOIA: Governor Natembeya Back In Office After 2-Month Court Ban
Governor George Natembeya of Trans Nzoia has returned to his headquarters in Kitale following the expiration of a two-month suspension imposed by a Nairobi court.
Following corruption charges, Natembeya was released on May 20 on a Sh1 million bond with an alternative bail of Sh500,000.
He disputed the charges. The governor was also forbidden from using his office for 60 days.
Excited members of his county administration and staff welcomed the governor back after a two-month hiatus.
Natembeya has been visiting sub-county offices to hold talks and meet with official delegations.
During the two months, he also conducted a thorough tour of the county, claiming that he had nothing to hide in the office.
“I am excited to be back and, as usual, let’s work hard to serve the people of Trans Nzoia,” he told staff who received him.

Natembeya stated that he felt more invigorated to execute his tasks despite missing his Town Hall office for the past two months.
Hundreds of locals also came out to welcome the governor back to his office.
Natembeya addressed the people after reporting back, stating that his administration would continue to work on big projects around the county.

The governor commended public officials at Town Hall for carrying out their duties properly despite his absence from office.
“Of course, I was doing my work from sub-counties and other offices, but my absence from Town Hall did not deter workers from providing services,” said Natembeya.
Natembeya stated that despite the political obstacles he was experiencing, county personnel had done their best to serve residents.
“I thank God for keeping us safe, and despite everything we have gone through, my determination and resolve is unstoppable,” said Natembeya.
