Millie Odhiambo Slams ‘Uncouth’ Robert Alai After Winnie Odinga Attack
ODM leaders clashed on Saturday after Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo confronted first-time MCA Robert Alai over his controversial comments about late Raila Odinga’s daughter Winnie Odinga.
Millie Odhiambo issued a warning to Alai in response to the MCA’s contentious remarks against Winnie Odinga during her address at the ODM 20 celebrations in Mombasa.
On Saturday, Alai sparked controversy by challenging Winnie’s political experience and power within the ODM party, chastising senior party members for allowing the late prime minister’s daughter to lecture them.
Millie Odhiambo responded by warning Alai about his apparent disrespect for women leaders.
“Before I finish, I would like to warn the person who attacked Winnie Odinga,” the lawmaker warned.

“I am a defender of women, and I want to say this, Alai, you like harassing women, but where Millie is, we will deal with you head-on.”
The MP maintained that Winnie remained a significant member of the Odinga family and should be treated with respect, referring to the EALA MP as “the heart of Baba.”

Furthermore, Odhiambo criticized the timing of Alai’s remarks, calling them culturally insensitive given that the Odinga family was still in grief.
The feud between the two leaders erupted on social media, with Alai linking some figures to Winnie Odinga’s earlier charges that some ODM leaders were secretly scheming to’sell the party’.
However, in a follow-up Facebook post, Odhiambo reaffirmed her sentiments, accusing the MCA of attacking female leaders.

“Robert Alai, you are used to attacking women and getting away with it… Winnie did not attack Governor Gladys Wanga. You are in fact implicitly attacking Wanga,” she wrote.
“It is exactly one month since Winnie lost her dad. It is uncouth and uncultured to attack her… Bring it on. I am waiting.”
The confrontation occurred amid rising tensions inside ODM, as tens of the party’s officials gathered on the shore to commemorate the party’s two-decade anniversary.
In a separate event, Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino appeared to criticize the party’s new top leadership, questioning why he was not considered for a position inside the party.
