“Wantam Chants Belittles Our Party!” – Kasmuel Tells ODM’s Sifuna

Popular ODM youth league member Kasmuel McOure has chastised Orange Democratic Movement party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna for using the opposition slogan ‘one term’ during recent public appearances.

In a lengthy message uploaded on social media on November 30, Kasmuel accused Sifuna of deception for allegedly pushing slogans that contradicted ODM ideals.

“If our SG can proudly chant ‘Wantam’ the primary slogan of a political formation that stands in direct contradiction to our ideological persuasion and routinely belittles our people, then we are duty-bound to call out his duplicity,” Kasmuel claimed.

He also accused the Nairobi County Senator of passing off his own thoughts as party positions.

“Of late, we have heard far too many of his personal opinions masquerading as party positions, and this at a moment when ODM is undergoing a critical transition that requires clarity, discipline, and institutional loyalty,” Kasmuel wrote.

Kasmuel further stated that Sifuna was involved in creating a perception that intended to damage ODM Party Leader Oburu Oginga during the celebration of the ODM’s twentieth anniversary in Mombasa.

The youth league member said that Sifuna colluded with those who degraded the Party Leader during the Mombasa celebrations.

“Where he should have upheld and elevated Dr. Oburu Oginga’s dignity as our Party Leader, he instead chose to collaborate with individuals who humiliated him, attempting and failing to incite the crowd,” Kasmuel alleged.

Kasmuel further accused Sifuna of castigating broad-based ODM supporters and even associating with people who intend to sabotage the ODM-Kenya Kwanza government agreement.

The self-proclaimed ODM youth league leader claimed that the SG has been ignoring official party responsibilities, such as campaigns.

Kasmuel now wants the SG to follow the party’s official direction or stand down in favor of someone who can protect the party’s integrity with intellectual rigor and political discipline.

In his message, Kasmuel stated that the ODM youth will continue to call out the SG and will not allow him to undermine the party.
