Perimeter Wall Collapses, Kills 4-Year-Old Girl In Mumias
A four-year-old girl died after being crushed by a perimeter wall in Shianda, Mumias, Kakamega County.
According to police, the incident occurred at Queens Guest House on Thursday morning.
The girl and her elder sister were crossing the perimeter wall inside the guest house area when it fell.
Police stated the elder sister was assisting the young child in crossing when a portion of the wall fell on her.
She was brought to a local private hospital and confirmed dead upon arrival, according to authorities.
Police said they are investigating the incident and that the body has been taken to the mortuary for an autopsy and other procedures.
In Kapsokwony, Bungoma County, a 23-year-old man was electrocuted while cutting trees on their compound.
This occurred after a branch from the tree he was pruning landed on live Kenya Power and Lighting lines. According to police, Remmy Chemos died as a result of electrocution.
The body was sent to the mortuary pending autopsy. Kenya Power authorities responded to the area and assisted in the procedure.

Such events have occurred frequently in rural residences, where persons cutting trees are electrocuted in accidents.
A 25-year-old man collapsed and died in his home in Fort Jesus, Ruiru, Kiambu County, following a long night of drinking.
The man had, on Wednesday night, come home late and drunk. He woke up feeling tired and stood up from his bed before collapsing and failing to wake up.
His roommate rushed him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police said they are investigating the incident.
