Outrage After Boda Boda Riders Burn Down Mash Poa Bus At Salgaa
Irate boda boda riders set fire to a 65-seater bus on Sunday evening after the driver allegedly drove over two persons in the Salgaa stretch of Nakuru County.
According to accounts, the tragedy occurred along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway when a bus headed to Kampala collided with a duo on a motorcycle, killing them instantly.
The collision rapidly caught the attention of boda boda riders, who began beating the bus driver before setting the vehicle on fire.

The event disrupted traffic on the ever-busy road, causing drivers to seek alternate routes.
The bus was burned beyond repair, leaving behind a metallic ruin, although no casualties were reported as a result.
The footage, which was extensively shared on social media, showed the bus entirely engulfed in flames as others stood at a distance to watch it burn.

The videos also showed considerable gridlock on the highway, with multiple vehicles lining up as traffic cops rushed in to deal with the problem.
The Motorists Association of Kenya (MAK) has denounced the event and urged the National Police Service (NPS) to take action against the culprits.

The incident has renewed concerns about boda boda riders’ proclivity for mob violence, including the burning of automobiles following minor accidents.
Just a month ago, a 33-seater minibus was set on fire after the driver of the vehicle reportedly knocked down a person in Juja, Kiambu County.

The incident occurred along Thika Road, near Juja town, after the minibus struck the victim, killing him on the spot.
The man said to have been killed is thought to have been a tout, who often operates at bus stops.
The accident quickly attracted the attention of the boda boda riders and residents, who confronted the Public Service Vehicle (PSV) driver before setting the vehicle on fire.
Transport was disrupted along the ever-busy highway that connects Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) and Kiambu County, forcing motorists to seek alternative routes.

There will reach a time when no vehicle will be driven on the road if this menace continues this way. These guys should be arrested, charged and made to pay for the loss otherwise going forward it would be very difficulty to control them. The government should tame these rogue boda bodas.
