Morara Kebaso, a political activist and government critic, has begun his “Vampire Diaries” tour by exposing a stalled government project in Western Kenya.

On Sunday, December 28, Kebaso examined a Webuye milk processing business worth Ksh 141 million in Bungoma County.

In his exposé, he discovered the facility to be an empty hole, leaving him wondering where the millions of dollars spent on equipment went.

The structure, which was completed in 2018, remained an empty hall, raising doubts about leaders’ responsibility and accusing government officials of pocketing taxpayer money intended for the factory.

“As you can see, the milk processing factory is empty, no work is ongoing, and the equipment were never bought,” Morara noted in a video that has since gone viral on social media.

“It has been like this since the 2018/19 financial year. They did not even supply the water tank.”

The Bungoma County government built the Webuye milk processing factory with the expectation that it would give residents a consistent market for their dairy products.

It was meant to process approximately 40,000 litres of milk each day, benefiting over 150,000 small-scale farmers in Bungoma and Trans-Nzoia counties.

Following reports of completion in 2021, the county government handed dairy cows to farmers in an effort to kickstart the process. In addition, it erected 21 milk coolers to act as collecting points.

However, following the Kebaso exposé, concerns have been raised regarding the overall practicality of the project, despite the government’s continued pledge of further infrastructure enhancements around the country.

The 29-year-old lawyer and businessman shot to national prominence in 2024 with his viral Vampire Diaries tour.

Morara traveled across the country to reveal non-existent or blocked projects, frequently dressed or emulating President William Ruto’s speaking style.

In early 2025, together with like-minded youth, he founded the Inject Party, which he said would provide a platform for youth leadership, leading to 2027.

However, in a dramatic turn of events, Kebaso announced his exit from active politics.

He cited relentless cyberbullying, personal toll of activism, and a “well-orchestrated war” against his credibility as the main reasons for his quitting.

At the time, Morara appeared to suggest his decision to quit his fairly new political career was motivated by the consistent criticism he was often subjected to.

Morara, in his social media tirade back in June, also claimed that he was often misquoted by the media and had to consistently worry about his safety because of his status as a new political figure.
