Multi-Vehicle Crash Leaves Atleast SIX People Dead Near Konza City
At least six individuals are believed to have died in a multi-vehicle accident on Mombasa Road in the Konza City district of Machakos County late Thursday night.
The crash involved a shuttle bound for Loitoktok, a truck, and a Tahmeed bus departing from Mombasa.
According to authorities, all of the reported casualties were passengers aboard the shuttle.
Several other passengers were seriously injured, with some victims apparently trapped inside the wreckage and others left on the ground awaiting assistance.

Witnesses at the scene described the collision as severe, adding that the vehicles were heavily damaged after the contact, which occurred at 11 p.m. on Friday, January 2.
Motorists and passersby expressed concern about what they saw as a delayed emergency response, blaming the Machakos County Government for the tardy dispatch of ambulances to the area.
Eyewitnesses frantically shouted for ambulances, saying that immediate medical assistance was crucial to saving lives, especially for those trapped in the wreckage.

Emergency personnel, including police officers, arrived on the scene and began organizing rescue attempts while traffic on the major roadway was temporarily delayed.
The injured were eventually transported to nearby hospitals, though the actual number of individuals admitted was not immediately known.

Police have initiated an inquiry to determine the cause of the accident and how the three vehicles crashed on the busy Konza City stretch, Mukaa Sub-County Police Commander Hussein Abduba stated.

In a separate incident, a grisly road accident involving a Janam Bus occurred at the Miesenyi area in Voi along the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway.
The bus was travelling from Busia through Nairobi to Mombasa when the accident happened, leaving several passengers injured.
The exact number of casualties had not been established by the time of publication.
Images and videos obtained from the scene showed the bus lying on its side, with some passengers seen outside the vehicle as bystanders moved in to assist.
