The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has debunked a notice claiming to be offering over 200 short-term Ajira positions in courts across the country.

JSC released the phony notice with a red fake stamp on Thursday, February 5, to encourage the public to dismiss it because there are no such vacancies at the moment.

The false notice had official characteristics like the Judiciary emblem and the coat of arms, giving it the impression of legitimacy and making it easier to deceive innocent Kenyans.

The fake notice, titled ‘Short Term Ajira Job Vacancies’, stated that the commission is employing digitisation agents in over 80 courts as part of the Ajira Phase II scheme.

The false notice claims that the recruiting is for data input, scanning operators, and team leaders, with assignments ranging from five to 54 days.

The bogus notification stated that successful applicants will be sent to several court stations, including Lodwar Law Court, Kericho Law Courts, Narok Law Courts, Kimilili Law Courts, Kitale Law Courts, Lamu Law Courts, and Embu Law Courts, among others.

Various government agencies have consistently warned the public to be cautious and use legitimate channels when accessing government-related information and to avoid falling victim to fraudsters.

The public can find Judiciary job openings through the JSC recruitment portal or the commission’s official social media pages.
