Ruto Makes Fresh Reappointments Of KEY State Agencies’ Chairpersons
President William Ruto and his Cabinet Secretaries have announced a new round of appointments and reappointments to several state institutions, indicating consistency in important regulatory organizations.
The appointments, which were announced in the Kenya Gazette on February 13, 2026, would see experienced administrators continue to manage major government organizations for another three years.
Ugas Mohamed will continue to lead the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) as Non-Executive Chairperson, with his reappointment on February 24, 2026, for another three-year term.
Sally Njambi Mahihu has also been appointed to another three-year term as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Investment Authority (KIA) board, beginning February 13, confirming trust in her leadership.
The Cabinet Secretaries also tried to keep skilled board members from different state agencies.
This is intended to ensure that institutional memory and continuity in policy execution are preserved despite the shifting political context.
Natasha Awuro Aduwo, Elena Natalia Pellegrini, Meshack Moses Kiprono, Gibson Kimani Maina, and Professor Michael Bowen will be reappointed to the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) board for another three-year term.
Jack Ranguma will continue to serve as both a Member and Non-Executive Chairperson of the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) board, with his reappointment continuing until February 2029 to ensure stability.
Genesio Mugo, the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Dairy Board, was reappointed for a three-year term to manage the dairy industry’s regulatory framework.
Seven members of the Kenya Dairy Board: Abraham Kiplel Rugut, Mercy Karimi Mbogo, Mike Koross, Fatuma Abdi Haji, Josephine Moraa Omanwa, Beth Wangare Mbuthia, and Kenneth Pkomoi Lomaibong, were also reappointed.
Zippie Metto will continue serving on the Tourism Fund Board for three more years, effective February 13, supporting Kenya’s tourism sector development and ensuring sustainable funding for hospitality initiatives.
Beyond reappointments, President Ruto introduced new faces to key boards, with Rebecca Ghati Maroa appointed as Member and Non-Executive Chairperson of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF).
Makarios Munanga Makwata joined the Kenya Dairy Board as a new member, for a three-year term starting February 13.
Professor Mary Akinyi Otieko will serve as Member and Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya School of Law (KSL) board for four years, overseeing legal education standards across the country.
At the county level, Josephine Mbena Mwau, Zebedee Mwandi, and Deborah Mutheu Kyalo were appointed to the Makueni County Public Service Board for a six-year non-renewable term starting February 12.

Pius Kipkorir Kigen will also chair the Uasin Gishu County Rural Water and Sanitation Company Board, replacing Paul Murgor, whose appointment was revoked, effective February 10, for three years.
The City of Eldoret received twelve new board members, including Edward Sawe, Sammy Bor, Alice Kositany, and Engineer David Kipsang Nyolmo, among others, whose roles are to strengthen urban governance structures.
Kilifi County’s Physical and Land Use Planning Liaison Committee (PLUPLC) welcomed six new members – Anthony Gona Fondo, Charles Dadu Karisa, Denis Malembeka, Umi Kugula, Nathaniel Nguthi, and Rahima Mbuche.
These names will be forwarded to the National Assembly for approval within the stipulated time, as per the notice.
