
A Nairobi OCS, Constable Arrested Over Shooting Incident At An Eldoret Night Club
There was drama in Eldoret City on Friday night after two police officers were arrested following a shooting incident at a nightclub in the town.
According to a police report filed at Eldoret Police Station, the incident occurred at Baniyas Night Club, located about two kilometres from the station, during a night out involving the two officers.
In the OB entry, it was reported that the two police officers entered the club at around 12:30pm, ordered food and drinks, and remained there until around 9pm when a dispute erupted between them and a waiter.
The OB further stated that the altercation escalated, with one of them drawing a pistol and firing a single round inside the establishment.
“The bouncers at the said establishment acted swiftly and disarmed the said person,” read part of the OB report.

Police officers were alerted and responded to the scene, where they arrested the two suspects following an operation led by the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Eldoret Police Station.
Following the arrest, police confirmed the recovery of a firearm from the scene of the incident.
“A pistol made Ceska serial No. KP KE G8262, loaded with 14 rounds of 9mm, was secured from the staff of the said establishment,” the police report added.
The report also indicated that a spent cartridge was recovered from the scene as investigations into the shooting commenced.

A further search on the suspects led to the recovery of cash amounting to Ksh673,000, 5 euros, 15 U.S. dollars, and 10 Polish zloty.
During the incident, the officers were reportedly assaulted by members of the public and sustained facial injuries before being rescued by police.
Investigations later established that the suspects were police officers.
Which included a Chief Inspector serving as the Officer Commanding Villa Police Station in Kibra Sub-county, Nairobi, and a Police Constable attached to Kapsaos Police Post in Turbo Sub-county, Uasin Gishu County.
Both officers were later booked at Eldoret Police Station and are being held pending further investigations into the incident.
