UDA MP Involved In A Grisly Road Accident With Fuel Bowser
Limuru Member of Parliament John Kiragu Chege narrowly avoided death after a catastrophic road collision involving his Toyota Land Cruiser TX and a bowser truck on Friday afternoon.
According to images posted online, photos from the site show the highly damaged SUV with its bonnet entirely shattered and debris spread across the road, indicating the severity of the accident.
The driver’s side of the vehicle’s body appeared severely twisted as a result of the collision.
Despite the severity of the catastrophe, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) MP confirmed that he, his driver, and his bodyguard survived the accident without severe injuries.
In a statement after the incident, Kiragu expressed gratitude for their safety, saying the trio had narrowly escaped what could have been a tragic accident.

“This afternoon, I was involved in a serious road accident. By the grace of God, despite the intensity of the crash, my driver, bodyguard, and I are safe and doing well,” he said.
“We remain deeply grateful for God’s protection and for the concern, prayers, and support from everyone,” the MP added in his message to supporters and residents.
Before venturing into politics, Kiragu built a career in engineering and infrastructure development.
He previously served as a quality inspector at the Athi Water Works Development Agency, where he specialised in quality assurance and control for infrastructure projects.

Meanwhile, the incident comes several months after Buuri MP Mugambi Rindikiri was involved in a road accident along the Nanyuki-Meru highway.
Rindikiri was travelling to attend President William Ruto’s NYOTA programme at Kinoru Stadium in January this year.
The legislator, however, escaped unharmed and in stable condition, with no life-threatening injuries, allowing him to proceed with his scheduled duties.
In 2024, Igembe South MP John Paul Mwirigi was also involved in a road accident in Chuka, Meru County, in the Kirubia area.
This was after the vehicle he was travelling in veered off the road and rolled onto its side. Fortunately, all occupants, including the MP, escaped unhurt.
