Fear seized Ol Kalou town on Thursday as armed, hooded men in multiple sport utility vehicles (SUVs) drove through the streets, blasted shots into the air, and patrolled areas near polling stations as voting in the parliamentary by-election plunged into mayhem.
The rioting occurred after voting had mostly gone well during the morning until the situation shifted in the afternoon.
Hooded guys armed with weapons and rungus are seen wandering throughout town in viral footage, while citizens flee for their lives.
