Gachagua Points Out Killer Police In Dr Victoria Mutiso, Lawyer Kyalo Mbobu’s Murders
The former Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua, has alleged that two police officers were involved in the killing of Dr Victoria Mutiso while accusing the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) of covering up the incident.
Gachagua, while speaking in his Wamunyoro residence on August 5, claimed the officers based at Kikuyu Police Station were linked to the murder of Mutiso.
Dr Mutiso was killed in Upper Hill last Wednesday over what he described as a farm dispute.
The outspoken former MP further accused the Director of Criminal Investigations, Mohamed Amin, of failing to take action despite alleged information about the officers involved in the case.
Gachagua said the two officers were also connected to an attack on him, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Jubilee Deputy Party leader Fred Matiang’i in a separate incident during their political rallies.
According to Gachagua, the two officers whose names he is withholding were involved in the killing last week, which, according to detectives, appeared to be a well-orchestrated murder.
“These two police officers stationed at Kikuyu Police Station are the ones who killed lawyer Kyalo Mbobu and also Dr Victoria Mutiso. Now DCI Mohamed Amin is covering it up,” Gachagua said.
Gachagua claimed that the two officers were also behind the puzzling killing of his neighbour, lawyer Mathew Kyalo Mbobu, who was fatally shot on September 9, 2025, in a targeted drive-by shooting along Magadi Road in Karen South, Nairobi.
The murder remains unresolved despite claims of professional execution.
Gachagua alleged that investigations into Mbovu’s death pointed to police involvement, saying the lawyer was killed over farm issues in the area.

The DCP leader said officers stationed at Kikuyu Police Station allegedly shared the details with him about the suspected officers and their identities in the cases.
This information helped him piece together the pieces on the murders of Dr Victoria and lawyer Kyallo Mbobu.
“There is a lawyer, my neighbour, who was killed. His name is Charles Mbovu, and we lived with him in Karen,” Gachagua stated.
“He was killed there, and until today, the killers have not been found, but they were professionals. We came to know they were police.”
He further claimed that most members inside the National Police Service (NPS) had become demoralised and unhappy with how things are run, and criticised the deployment of officers in key security positions across Nairobi.
Gachagua said the alleged failures raised concerns about accountability within security agencies and called for answers on investigations involving the deaths of Dr Mutiso and Lawyer Mbovu.
