“I Have No Problem!” – Kalonzo Says On Deputising Edwin Sifuna In 2027
Wiper Patriotic Front Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has confirmed that he is ready to deputise Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna in the 2027 general election.
However, only if the opposition settles on the Nairobi senator as its presidential candidate.
Speaking during an interview on NTV on Monday, August 10, Kalonzo said he had no problem at all in supporting a Sifuna -Kalonzo ticket.
He insisted that as long as the ticket would guarantee that President William Ruto is defeated in 2027.
According to the Wiper leader, he is also optimistic that even Sifuna himself would support him if he emerges as the opposition flagbearer.
“This time, we are not leaving anything to chance. We have agreed that that whatever it takes. Of course, I have no problem at all in supporting Sifuna,” Kalonzo stated.
The former Vice President, however, maintained that he would not only support his ticket with Sifuna.
According to Kalonzo, he is ready to support any ticket that the opposition would unanimously agree on.
“I will support this and the other. I am quite sure, and I can tell you, Sifuna has no problem supporting me either,” he added.
“I have no problem supporting him. I have no problem supporting Gachagua.”
“I hope I’ve answered your question. It’s not a simple, yes, Sifuna or Kalonzo or Gachagua or, or, or Eugene Wamalwa or Martha Karua,” he said.

Kalonzo’s statement comes days after opinion polls placed Senator Sifuna ahead of many opposition candidates as the best candidate to challenge Ruto in 2027.
A recent TIFA survey released on Friday, July 24, showed that 44 per cent of ODM supporters would prefer Sifuna as the party’s presidential candidate if elections were held.
In comparison, only 20 per cent of ODM supporters said they would back President William Ruto.
Meanwhile, 9 per cent preferred former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, 4 per cent supported Kalonzo Musyoka, and 2 per cent backed Babu Owino.
Despite the polls placing Sifuna as the preferred candidate to challenge Ruto, the president still enjoys significant support from the majority of Kenyans, with the polls placing him ahead of his competitors.
Sifuna, who has recently been conducting a series of rallies to consolidate support for his presidential bid, has vowed to support a single candidate within the opposition to remove Ruto from office.
