Gachagua Promises To Fully Support Late MP Ng’eno’s Family, Build Mausoleum
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has pledged to build a mausoleum at the grave of former Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno, which he said would serve as a lasting memorial to his late friend.
Gachagua made the commitment on Friday, August 21, while visiting Ng’eno’s family in Mogondo, Narok County, to pay his respects to the late lawmaker.
“I will help in the construction of a mausoleum in remembrance of Johana Ng’eno. I will build it because this leader resting here was my very good friend,” he said.
Ngeno’s mother, Mary Temas, appealed to the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader, asking him to build a structure that would provide shelter over the grave.
She explained that despite previous requests to leaders for such a structure to be built, it was yet to be executed five months after Ng’eno’s funeral in March.
In response, Gachagua said he would collaborate with the family and bear the costs for the mausoleum’s construction.
He added that designers would be instructed to prepare a structure based on the wishes of Ng’eno’s mother and that construction would begin immediately.
A representative of the family said relatives would meet to agree on the design and obtain the necessary cost estimates before presenting them to the former Vice President.
Gachagua accompanied Ng’eno’s mother to the gravesite to lay a wreath in honour of the former MP who died in a February helicopter crash.

The DCP leader pledged to support her as a friend of her late son as the death had left her struggling to afford necessities such as medication.
Further, during the visit, he claimed that President William Ruto had made several promises to her during Ng’eno’s burial that had not been fulfilled.
Gachagua had previously spoken to Ng’eno’s mother by phone and promised to discuss with her his concerns over the circumstances surrounding her son’s death.
The visit came as Gachagua continued his political activities in Emurua Dikirr, where he was scheduled to address residents at Mogondor Centre as part of a DCP rally.
Heavy security was deployed around the centre ahead of Gachagua’s DCP rally, with police officers stationed in the area as supporters gathered.
Gachagua’s appearance in the area comes amid heightened political activity and concerns over violence at a recent DCP rally in Nakuru County.
