According to Committee Chairperson Vincent Musyoka, Siror was expected to address Kenyans’ concerns about high electricity bills.
Siror was also expected to reveal the criteria for determining customer power connection charges.
Furthermore, he was responsible for addressing the lack of power supply in the Mukuru kwa Njenga area of the Embakasi South Constituency for nearly three years.
The committee Chairperson, who is also the Mwala MP, urged all public officers to be accountable for their work.
“This committee has the responsibility of protecting the public interest through oversight. We therefore need the MD to appear before us and answer questions relating to his docket,” said Musyoka.
This comes amid growing concerns about the country’s electricity costs.
Auditor General Nancy Gathungu told a Parliamentary committee in August last year that Kenya Power overcharged Kenyans by up to 20% for power they did not use.

Kplc & EPRA can't sufficiently explain this bill inflation anomaly.
Also, Kenya power has been miscalculating system losses using outdated study.

Gathungu stated that while investigating the power bills, her office discovered numerous instances of faulty check meters and discrepancies between the main meters and check meters.
Check meters validate or verify the accuracy of main meters.
According to Gathungu, only 39% of the generation plants that supply power to Kenya Power have check meters.
“Almost 20 percent of the bill to consumers cannot be matched to actual consumption neither can the distribution company attribute it to a specific consumer,” she said then.
