TRAGIC: 2 People Killed As Murder Cases Surge In Embu
Detectives are looking into two separate murder cases reported in Embu County.
One of the incidents occurred during a robbery at a bakery in the Majengo area on Monday, according to police.
Murimi Nue, 27, a night guard at the bakery, was found dead with visible injuries to his head and face, as well as bruises on his neck and a deep cut on his right palm.
According to police, blood was oozing from the mouth when the body was discovered. It is unclear what the gang took from the facility.
Police believe he was killed after resisting a planned robbery at the bakery. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.
In the Runyenjes area, a 28-year-old man was allegedly stabbed and killed during a land dispute.
According to police, John Mugambi Njeru was stabbed in the chest and died at the hospital shortly after.
Police said they are looking for his father in connection with the fatal stabbing that occurred Sunday evening.
The two argued over a plot of land at Karurumo market before getting into a fight that ended tragically.
This comes after the father, who was armed with a kitchen knife, allegedly attacked and stabbed his son in the chest, killing him, according to police.
The victim was rushed to Karurumo Health Centre and pronounced dead upon arrival.
The body was moved to the mortuary for autopsy and pending probe.
