‘This Is Harassment’ – Wanjigi Says Gov’t Operatives Are Jamming Communication Around His Home
On Friday, businessman Jimi Wanjigi expressed concerns about being watched by law enforcement officers in unmarked cars parked outside his home.
Wanjigi has consistently had to deal with police raids at his Muthaiga home.
Wanjigi reported on his X account that the occupants of the vehicles are actively jamming communication inside his home.
“Why are unmarked vehicles outside my residence in Muthaiga for the last one week? This is clearly harassment on me and my family, this surveillance is unprecedented!” The businessman asked on X.

The post included several pictures of the vehicles, some of which were clearly equipped with antennas, which could be the cause of the blocked communication in his home.
The surveillance, which he claims has been ongoing for more than a week, is despite a court order issued to police barring them from accessing the compound.
High Court Judge Joe Omido issued the order after Irene Nzisa Wanjigi filed an application with the court following a police raid on their home on August 8.
The court order, issued on September 11, also warned Acting IG Gilbert Masengeli and any of his police officers against seizing or destroying any property from the businessman’s home.
Wanjigi’s wife stated in an affidavit to the court that the police officers gained access to their home by breaking the gate, doors, CCTV cameras, and lighting equipment.
She also claimed that officers seized property, including communications devices such as six phones, iPads, laptop computers, and other expensive gadgets.
Wanjigi’s wife claims that she, her children, and the property in her home have nothing to do with Wanjigi’s activism and should not be treated as such.
A hearing was scheduled for September 24. The August 8 raid took place late in the evening, following a tense day of police stand-off outside his home.
They were unsuccessful in apprehending Wanjigi. The police had accused Wanjigi of funding the nation’s Gen-Z protests, which had lasted weeks.
This is not the first time the billionaire has faced similar raids; similar cases were reported in 2017 and 2022.
