Nairobi’s Noisy Quiver Lounge in Kilimani Closed Indefinitely

Residents of Kilimani can now breathe a sigh of relief after Nairobi City County officials closed Quiver Steak House in Kilimani on Sunday for noise pollution.

Previously, residents complained of having sleepless nights due to loud music from the joint, which they claimed violated their rights.

Following a public outcry, county officials, led by Chief Officer of Environment Geoffrey Mosiria, took the initiative to suspend the club’s operations.

It is alleged that Quiver’s management ignored residents’ concerns, urging the club to lower their loud voices.

A notice was served to Quiver to soundproof the club, but it went unheeded, fueling pressure from residents to have the steak house closed.

During the closure, Mosiria stated that the county would not remain calm while several people were denied the right to sleep peacefully by a single company.

Inside sources said President William Ruto issued the order to close the club before leaving for Nyeri on Sunday morning.

The popular entertainment spot is located near the Department of Defense (DOD), the State House, and a number of residential buildings.

“We have closed down the establishment because they ignored multiple notices and complaints from neighbours,” Mosiria confirmed.

“This behaviour is illegal and we are now enforcing action against those who have failed to address our soundproofing requests.”

The Chief Officer of Environment confirmed that Nairobi City County will not tolerate ongoing environmental pollution and disturbances to its residents.

It was reported that the closure was peaceful because management and clients followed the order. Revelers were seen leaving the establishment with a questioning look.
