DP Gachagua Lays Bare On Impeachment Rumours, Tells Ruto To Bring Order In UDA
On Friday, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua urged President William to intervene and resolve the squabbles within the Kenya Kwanza administration.
In an interview with Citizen TV, Gachagua claimed that the Head of State was the only one who could put an end to the political animosity that has recently gripped the ruling party.
According to Gachagua, despite attempts to reach out to President Ruto to address the cracks in his administration, the Head of State has yet to respond.
“It is upon our boss, President William Ruto to call his house to order. I have talked to the president several times and I have asked him to do so but he is yet to do it,” Gachagua stated.
“This is because the environment we currently have in the country is toxic, Kenyans are very unhappy about what is going on.”

While discussing his relationship with Ruto, Gachagua stated that he was on good terms with the president, despite recent political developments.
The deputy president went on to claim that some Members of Parliament affiliated with President Ruto’s party had been coerced into opposing him.
Gachagua insisted on the matter, alleging that the legislators received handouts to initiate his removal from the National Assembly.
“How can people, at this time meet to discuss how to impeach the deputy president when we have roads that have stalled for years?” Gachagua posed.
“When we have water challenges and people who have been hospitalised.”
According to Gachagua, approximately 35 lawmakers gathered in Nyahururu to discuss how to remove him from his current position.
Gachagua claimed the meeting lasted all night, prompting approximately seven MPs to leave.
Nonetheless, the deputy president stated that he informed the Head of State of attempts to remove him from office.
However, Gachagua claimed that the president informed him that he was unaware of such a scheme.
“There is no motion of impeachment against the deputy president that can find itself on the floor of the house unless the President gives a nod. Nobody else can push it through apart from the President,” the DP affirmed.
