University Students To Wait Till December For Funding Model Hearing
University students who have complaints about the current university funding model will have to wait a little longer for their appeals to be heard and banding corrected as needed, according to Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos.
The CS revealed this on Tuesday when he appeared before the Parliamentary Committee on Education, emphasizing that education officials have yet to open appeals.
“On the question of appeals, we have not started working on them because we said bring them in…you’re in school; you are not being told to go away,” said Migos.
“We are going to ensure we conduct the exams so that we can do an analysis when everybody has had a chance. So, it’s an ongoing exercise.”

The CS later joined the Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei, to witness the 129-member committee appointed by President William Ruto to review the model.
“Education matters to many, so I ask you to consult widely,” Koskei said at the event.
“Speak to the education sector, but also to parents, groups, associations, lobbyists, regulators, and students. The wider your consultation, the likelier your recommendation will meet approval.”
