‘Stop Heckling The President!’ – Governor Mbarire Rebukes Embu Residents
Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire chastised residents of her county for heckling President William Ruto during a church service on Sunday, calling it stupidity.
The incident occurred at the Ordination Of Bishop Peter Kimani Ndung’u in Embu during President Ruto’s speech, when the audience began chanting ‘Ruto Must Go’ chants.
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua were among those in attendance, however, the latter was denied the opportunity to address the audience.
The obviously irritated Governor chastised her constituents for heckling, calling it unpleasant and disrespectful to the position of the presidency.
“Tomorrow, we want our markets to be upgraded but we can’t ask for developments when we are heckling at the head of state,” she lamented.

Governor Mbarire highlighted the significance of respecting elected authorities and remaining civil at public events.
“Even if we are angry, we have never reached a point of heckling the President. We have been taught abusive politics of hate by leaders who want us to lose our track,” she added seemingly referring to former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.
She also advised locals to express their concerns through productive discourse rather than disruptive behavior.
“I am pleading with you as a veteran politician we are not helping ourselves with unnecessary political battles,” Mbarire stated.
“When you see me quiet in this government I know what I am doing. Other places like Nyeri, Murang’a, Kiambu and Kirinyanga have tarmacked roads, where are ours?”
She said that they cannot be forced to leave the government while they are in need of growth.

“We cannot compare ourselves to other regions that have developments. We cannot afford to stay three years out of the government without any developments,” she noted.
Her statement was in response to widespread displeasure with the Kenya Kwanza Government. The populace has now turned on Ruto’s government leaders, booing and heckling them.
On Friday, October 11, mourners in Bahati booed Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika and several other United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leaders at a funeral service.
Governor Kihika drew the ire of the community when she began reading a condolence message from President Ruto.
