Another Gachagua Ally Summoned By DCI To Address the Limuru Incident
Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa is among the leaders wanted by police for questioning about the turmoil that occurred during a burial event in Limuru, Kiambu County.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was there during the ceremony but escaped unharmed. His cars, however, were damaged.
Several more mourners were hurt as suspected thugs attacked the ceremony, causing those there to flee for their safety.
Police say they are looking into the situation. Thang’wa was summoned to the Nyeri Regional Criminal Investigations offices on Friday, November 29, without fail.
“They refuse to meet us at the CID headquarters on Kiambu Road but summon us to Nyeri over an incident that occurred in Limuru. This intimidation will neither intimidate nor silence us. See you in Nyeri tomorrow at 10 am,” Thangwa said.

Police are investigating claims of willful property destruction and personal injury.
The event took place on November 28 at the Bibirioni Boys High School playground.
Thang’wa was one of several Gachagua supporters who went to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters on Kiambu Road on Thursday evening to demand an immediate investigation into the pandemonium that occurred earlier in the day at the burial in Limuru.
They stated the commotion during a burial occasion appeared to be well-planned.
Thang’wa and his Nyandarua colleague, John Methu, claimed the turmoil was a direct assault on the former DP’s life.
They further stated that former Limuru Member of Parliament Peter Mwathi was apprehended by police personnel during the incident.
According to Thang’wa, the violence was coordinated by State operatives who flew hundreds of goons from neighboring constituencies to target Gachagua.
He stated that when they arrived at the DCI, they were turned away without even being offered a listening ear. They addressed journalists outside the DCI gates.

“We came here to demand for swift investigations of what transpired today in Limuru Constituency where an attempt on the life of Gachagua was carried out by hired goons by the government,” said Thang’wa.
“Because we truly believe it was a well-planned incident, and the reason why we’re saying that is because there were some 200-300 goons from different areas of this country, not necessarily from Limuru, that attacked Gachagua.”
“We also came here because we wanted to find the whereabouts of the former MP for Limuru Peter Mwathi because he was abducted by men in Subarus,” added Thang’wa.
“So we came here to find out where they took him. We have not been given any information, they actually never listened to us. The Director of Investigations told us he could not listen to us and walked away.”
