VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE! UDA MP Tells Ruto Why Kenyans Lost Hope In Government
The National Conversation Report 2024 explains why Kenyans have lost faith in the Kenya Kwanza government, led by President William Ruto.
Mukurweini MP John Kaguchia presented the proposal at the National Prayer Breakfast at the Safari Park Hotel off Thika Road, stating that the conversation took place on Wednesday, May 29, with over 300 people in attendance.
According to the report, Kenyans were disappointed by a number of issues that exacerbated their problems.
“The highlights of the conversation and the comments from participants include; on the question of whether Kenya is in trouble, the participants said yes.”
“The sources of disgrace and trouble for Kenya include vices that Kenya has held for decades, such as tribalism, corruption, inflation, strikes, lack of jobs, poor leadership, the huge gap between the rich and poor, mismanagement of resources, betrayal of public trust, and failed promises,” the report said.
Advocate Peter Waiyaki, Justice Daniel Musinga, and Dr. Nelson Makanda facilitated the conversation. The event was hosted by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula.
However, the participants expressed hope that Kenya can rebuild by retracing its steps and establishing a healthy nation for all.
“The participants were emphatic that there is hope that Kenya will be rebuilt by rebuilding public trust and dealing with rampant corruption, increasing manufacturing capacity to create employment, replacing tribalism with love and electing leaders based on their good track record,” the report observed.
The report also stated that citizens must significantly reduce their involvement in corruption and report any cases that jeopardize the fight against the vice.
The report includes the perspectives of Kenyans who are concerned about the country’s future.
President Ruto has remained optimistic that his administration will address the issues that continue to burden the common mwananchi.
