Former Kenyan Ambassador Dead On Daughter’s Burial Day
Daniel Koikai, the father of media personality and reggae icon Mary Njambi Koikai, has died, according to reports.
His tragic death comes just a fortnight after her daughter’s death. Njambi allegedly died at Nairobi Hospital after a lengthy battle with endometriosis.
Daniel Koikai’s death comes just a day after he paid tribute to his late daughter, taking the opportunity to apologize and ask for her forgiveness.
While admitting his shortcomings as a father, Koikai’s father went on to praise Njambi and recount the final special moments she shared with her daughter.

“Dear Njambi my daughter, the time has come for me to atone for my acts of omission or commission on your final journey from this world it has been one of the most difficult episodes in my life,” Njambi’s father eulogised.
“Especially for your close family members; your mother, sister aunts, uncles and colleagues in the media and friends in and out of the country,” he added.
Koikai’s father reportedly died while her daughter’s burial was taking place at Lang’ata Cemetery.
The cause of his death remains unclear, with reports indicating that it could have been self-initiated.
Meanwhile, before her death, Njambi Koikai asked Kenyans to donate blood to help her recover.
She had complained that her endometriosis had worsened due to a delayed diagnosis and a lack of treatment in the country.
Endometriosis, according to the World Health Organization, is a painful disorder in which tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, causing inflammation.
“Hello family, I am currently admitted to Nairobi Hospital’s Pioneer Ward and require blood O positive. Please find a blood donor for Mary Njambi Koikai,” she wrote on her X handle.
