Migori’s Machete-Wielding Terror Gang Goes Into Hiding After Recent Hacking Incident

Residents of Suna East Sub County, as well as those from neighboring sub-counties such as Awendo, have expressed concern about a criminal gang known as the 42 Brothers, which operates in Migori County.

The concerns come just a few days after members of the gang hacked two people, including a teacher while trailing stolen cattle in Suna-Kwa, Suna East Sub County.

Aside from dealing with cattle theft in the region, members of the public want security officers in Suna East Sub County to disband the criminal gang as soon as possible.

Mr.Evance Achola, the Suna Kwa location Chief, confirmed that the criminal gang hacked two people who were part of the team trailing stolen cattle from the neighboring sub-location (Arambe).

Achola stated that police have arrested six members of the criminal gang since the Friday attack and that the crackdown is ongoing.

The area chief stated that they have observed that the criminal gang has a larger membership of young boys aged 17 to 20 years who are well coordinated.

He stated that the public has been extremely supportive, with the exception of a few members of the public who are relatives of criminal gang members.
