KWS Officers Reportedly Shot And Killed Man Found With 5 Dead Deers
Police are investigating the shooting and death of a 30-year-old man in Turkwel, Marich, West Pokot County.
According to police, the man was fatally shot while carrying five dead deer.
It’s unclear where he got the animals. It is believed, however, that he killed them in nearby national parks.
Poaching is widespread in the area. Police and Kenya Wildlife Service officials, however, denied killing the man.
The poachers target a variety of wild animals in the park. The animals include elephants.
His body was transferred to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures. The deceased were photographed and disposed of, according to police.
Police say they are investigating the incident that occurred on July 6.

In Isiolo, police are investigating the death of a 35-year-old man whose body was discovered on the side of the road.
The body of Shadrack Muriuki was discovered with no visible injuries. It was discovered at the gate of a local mosque in the Wabera area and then transferred to Meru Referral Mortuary for postmortem.
