Gachagua Blasts Dismissed CSs Promising Ruto Will Pick A Competent Cabinet

On Saturday, July 13, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua urged President William Ruto to appoint a new team of competent Cabinet Secretaries.

During the commissioning of Kipsoen Technical and Vocational College in Elgeyo Marakwet, Gachagua praised Ruto for his bold decision to dismiss the ministers.

Gachagua urged the President to consider appointing apolitical, uncorrupt, and humble cabinet secretaries who will assist him in serving the Kenyan people.

According to the DP, Kenyans want a cabinet that works efficiently and harmoniously, and that prioritizes the needs of the people over personal interests.

“We fully support you for the bold decision to dismiss your cabinet secretaries so that you can appoint new ones to help you in your role,” Gachagua commented.

“Appoint CSs who have no pride, those who don’t engage in politics and those who are not corrupt. That will help you to deliver to the people,” the Deputy President added.

The Deputy President expressed confidence in the president, stating that it was time for Ruto to exercise his authority and select the right leaders for the sake of the country.

Gachagua’s remarks come just two days after President Ruto fired all of his cabinet secretaries while sparing the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Deputy President positions.

According to President Ruto, the decision to overhaul the cabinet was in response to Kenyans’ demands during the recent nationwide demonstrations.

The Head of State also stated that he decided to dismiss the ministers after thoroughly reviewing their performance.

“Upon reflection and listening keenly to what the people of Kenya have said and after holistic appraisal of the performance of my Cabinet and its achievements and challenges,” said Ruto.

“I have today in line with the powers given to me decided to dismiss with immediate effect all the CSs and AG except the PCS and CS for Foreign Affairs and the office of the DP is not affected in any way,” he added.
