[VIDEO]Kenya Police Recorded Storming Nakuru Church While Firing At Congregants

Tensions rose in Nakuru Town on Tuesday afternoon when police stormed a church to remove protestors.

The officers were captured by the church’s CCTV cameras as they entered the building and searched for the protestors who were said to be seeking refuge inside.

Kenyans.co.ke obtained CCTV footage showing worshippers on the church podium lying on the floor in fear of being clobbered by officers.

According to the church’s management, the congregation had just finished their lunch hour service when one of the reverends led a prayer for a member.

The bishop of the church, who spoke out to condemn the act, stated that the officers opened fire on the protestors with live bullets.

“Why shoot live bullets and beat people in our Church, we had our normal lunch hour service,” stated the Bishop.

“Rev Patriciah Benson was praying for members. As the  Bishop of Chosen Generation Church, I condemn this act of excessive use of force by the police.”

However, no injuries or casualties were reported during the afternoon incident.

This came as Kenyans continued to demonstrate across the country on Tuesday, with heavy police presence reported in the majority of areas.

Within Nairobi, police used tear gas to disperse demonstrators who expressed their dissatisfaction with the state of the nation.

Demonstrators stormed Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi’s office in Kabarnet town, demanding to speak with him.

The protesters marched through the road leading to the governor’s office, chanting the governor’s name and expressing dissatisfaction with his leadership.
