REBECCA MIANO: Will She Become Kenya’s First Female Attorney General?
Former Cabinet Secretary has returned to President William Ruto as Attorney-General nominee. Miano will replace Justin Muturi, Ruto’s first Attorney General.
Miano served as Minister of Investments, Trade, and Industry from October 2023 until her dismissal on July 11, 2024.
Miano previously held the positions of Cabinet Secretary for the East African Community, ASALs, and Regional Development before joining the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry.

The Solicitor General, Senior Deputy Solicitor General, Director of Public Prosecutions, Registrar General, Administrator General, Chairman of Advocates Complaints Commission, Chief Parliamentary Counsel, and Chief State’s Attorney assist the Attorney General in his duties as the government’s principal legal adviser.
