Duale ‘Grateful’ To Ruto After Surprise Reshuffle From Defence Docket To the Environment Ministry
Ruto appoints Soipan Tuya to the Defence docket and Aden Duale to the Environment Ministry in a surprise cabinet change.
President William Ruto has revised his list of new Cabinet nominees, which was unveiled on Friday last week.
Speaker Moses Wetangula surprised Parliament on Tuesday afternoon by reassigning Aden Duale from the Defence Ministry to the Environment docket.
Soipan Tuya, who had been nominated for the Environment Ministry, has been transferred to the powerful Defense Ministry.
Duale responded to the reassignment, which surprised many, by posting on his X account:
“I am grateful to President @WilliamsRuto for reassigning me from the Defence Ministry to the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry,” reads the post.

All other Cabinet nominations stand as announced by the President.
Meanwhile, the Speaker has confirmed that all Cabinet nominees, including those reappointed, will be vetted.
